The earthquake on November 17 in 2015 reached a magnitude of 6.4 MW. It was located at a depth about 10 kilometers under the Ionian Sea west of the Greek island Lefkada. The seismological fault-plane solution indicates a right-lateral strike-slip fault along the Cephalonia - Lefkada transform fault.
